Technical Support - Using Mozilla Firefox

To use, you must setup Mozilla Firefox to use Adobe Acrobat or Reader to display PDF file. Mozilla Firefox has recently added an internal PDF viewer to the browser. This viewer bypasses the Adobe Acrobat Reader that was traditionally used to view PDF files from the Internet. Unfortunately, this viewer does not work with The following items are steps you might need to follow to setup your Mozilla Firefox to work with

Change from using the built-in PDF viewer to use Adobe Acrobat/Reader
Enable Adobe Acrobat

Change from using the built-in PDF viewer to use Adobe Acrobat/Reader
  1. Click the menu button and choose Options

  2. Select the Applications panel
  3. Find Portable Document Format (PDF) in the list and click on it to select it
  4. Click on the drop-down arrow in the Action column for the above entry and select Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)

Enable Adobe Acrobat
  1. Click the menu button and choose AddOns

  2. Select the Plugins panel
  3. Select Always Activate or Ask to Activate (depending on your Firefox version, you might need to select Enable button)

Check Adobe settings
  1. Open Adobe Acrobat or Reader
  2. Once in Adobe Reader, click the Edit menu in the menu bar, and then click Preferences.... The Preferences window will open
  3. In the Categories section, click on Internet
  4. Make sure the first check box, Display PDF in browser, is checked. Note, in the newer versions of Adobe, this option is not available.
  5. Click OK to dismiss the Preferences window, and then close Adobe Reader
